Phuket – The Pearl On The Ocean
Phuket Province ( Phuket Island) is in the south of Thailand. It’s the country’s largest island that you rarely feel surrounded by water.
Patong Beach
It’s Phuket’s most developed area, made up of hotels, restaurants, nightclubs and various tourist attractions.
You could find all different type of foods with more reasonable price than other beaches. With its wide variety of activities and nightlife, Patong is an ideal place to party and play. By night the town has a bustling nightlife which includes literally hundreds of restaurants, beer bars, Go-Go Bars and night clubs. The nightlife is centered around Bangla Road.
The northern end of Patong Bay is called Kalim and is a popular place for viewing the sunset and for surfing between April and September each year.
Kamala Beach
There’re many nice restaurants on the beach, and probably the only beach that you can find so many restaurants now.
At this point, easily see the nice sunset, less crowdy than Patong. Price for the foods is reasonable too. With its quieter pace, Kamala has become a favored spot for retirees and other longer-term visitors staying in small hotels, villas and apartment rentals around the village. On the headland to the south, are a number of luxury villa developments, with great views of Kamala Bay and beyond along its winding road.
The famous “Fantasea Show” is in this area.
Bangtao Beach
It’s the most beautiful area in Phuket, long beach with much fewer people than other areas, dark blue water, with the luxurious resorts and villas around.
The exception to this rule is the southern end of the beach, where you will find a number of beachfront hotels as well as some of the best beach clubs in Phuket.
Taking up a huge area in the middle of Bangtao beach, Laguna Phuket, one of Asia’s largest resort complexes. It remains one of the most family-friendly beaches.
“Dream Beach Club” and “ Catch Club” are two nice popular beach clubs located on Bangtao Beach. “Dream Beach Club” has more people on daytime with some shows. It’s a bit quiet during the night time. “Catch Club” is more famous for its’ nightlife.
Karon Beach
Karon features the third longest beach on Phuket Island. It’s in the South of Patong Beach. Karon Beach is the second favorite holiday destination in Phuket. The beach itself has excellent snorkeling spots at its southern end.
It features three main areas, each with their own assets: Karon Centre is a lively small city in which visitors can find a good choice of dining, shopping, and nightlife entertainment opportunities. Karon Beach Road is ideal for taking an evening stroll and is mostly occupied by large resorts and restaurants and shops. The third main area of Karon is centered around Luang Poh Chuan Road, towards the southern end of the beach, which houses excellent restaurants and the more raucous nightlife spot of the resort town.
Kata Beach
The pleasant bay of Kata, just a few minutes south of Karon Beach, entices and charms many visitors with its white sands and clear waters. Very popular with families, Kata is an all round favorite due to its spectacular palm-lined beach, great restaurants, lively but not raucous nightlife and varied accommodation options – all close to the beach.
Phuket Old Town
Phuket town is often overlooked in favor of the beaches, but there’s a lot to see and do (and spend your money on!) in this old town full of heritage buildings. Phuket Town features an exciting mix of old and new, simple and sophisticated, peaceful and pulsating.
In this historically rich part of town, you will find shrines, temples (Buddhist and Chinese), ornate and beautifully preserved ‘shophouses’, quaint cafés, tiny printing shops, impromptu private and public museums.
